Q. Can I watch or maybe help you groom my dog?

A. No, it is essential that your dog respond to us. Experience has shown that when the owner is present the dog may not respond to or be confrontational to a stylist. We also want your dog to get to know us and to develop a relationship so that your dog does not mind the grooming procedure. Therefore, we must ask you to allow us to be alone with your dog.

Q. Do you do custom haircuts?

A. Yes, we will try to do (within reason and within our ability) what the owner desires. We will discuss the details and arrive at a mutually agreeable price. We will do summer “shave downs” or “lion cuts” etc. for example.

Q. How often should I have my dog groomed?

A. We recommend setting up with us on a yearly schedule of at least every four to six weeks. With regular grooming, your dog's coat will stay in good shape, shedding is reduced, fleas and ticks can be better controlled and your pet will just look and feel better.

Q. What are your normal business hours?

A. Normally, we schedule appointments from 8 AM to around 2 PM Tuesday through Saturday.

Q. How long does it take you to groom most dogs?

A. That depends on the size of the dog, thickness of the coat, haircut and any other services required or requested. We start immediately once we have the pet in the salon. We can usually complete most grooming in an hour and a half or less.

Q. Do I have to be at home when you groom my dog?

A. After the initial visit we will work out an arrangement with you to groom your dog when you are not at home if that is more convenient for you.

Q. My dog's coat is long and severely matted. Can you get out the mats and comb out the coat?

A. That depends. If the coat is extremely matted, it may be more practical, cost effective, and easier on your dog to give it a short haircut to remove the mats and get the coat in good shape. Regular maintenance will then prevent this problem from reoccurring. We will discuss these situations and arrive at a mutually agreeable solution once we examine the pet.

Q. Do you need to connect to the water or electricity at my location?

A. No, our mobile salon is self contained with clean fresh water, power and air conditioning.

Q. Is there anything I need to do at my location for you to groom my dog?

A. Yes, there are several things you can do to aid us in our visit to your location.

  • Please allow your dog to go out and “do his or her business” before we arrive. Sometimes dogs get nervous and will urinate or have a bowel movement in our salons.
  • Please do not feed your dog within an hour before we arrive. Nervous dogs will sometimes get sick and throw up inside our salons.
  • Inspect your location and identify our best parking and entering and exiting route so that we do not have interference with buildings, vehicles, or other obstructions.
  • If you live in a gated community or other arrangement

Q. Do you groom large breed and older dogs?

A. Yes we service all dogs if we are physically able to handle and groom them and if grooming is in the best interest of the dog depending on its health condition.

Q. My dog is infested with fleas and ticks. Can you help with this problem?

A. This is a serious situation as fleas and ticks are a health hazard to you and your dog and to us when we groom it. We also cannot have a flea infestation in our grooming salons. Therefore, if this situation is apparent, we will give the dog a special flea shampoo bath to temporarily kill the fleas and ticks on the dog prior to grooming. There is an additional charge for the Flea treatment. Your yard must be properly maintained to eliminate fleas and ticks or the dog will quickly become re-infested and may bring these pests into your home. Dogs with repeated flea or tick infestations will not be groomed.
